Student Representation

  Introduction

What is the Student Council (formally known as SRC)?

The Student Council meets a minimum of twice each term in the SU. It provides a chance for every student to have their say about the way that the Union is run.

Any member of the Union is entitled to attend and submit motions, and members are allowed to vote.

Anyone wishing to submit a motion needs to send it to the President by the deadline set prior to the meeting. (If you would like advice on writing a motion then feel free to ask any of the Trustee Officers or members of the Exec). Motions can be about anything affecting the student population or the Students' Union - It's up to you.

Every course should have a Programme Representative – volunteer yourself as a Programme Rep and take the issues of your fellow students to the Student Council and Programme Committee Meetings. Students serving as a Programme rep and attending Programme Committee meetings and Student Council meetings will receive a letter of recommendation from the Directorate – useful for CVs.

The first meeting of the new term will be held on Friday 9 December 2011 at 12pm in S16
